HOWARD DEAN: WHOSE SIDE IS HE ON?
That's the question Florida Democrats have to be asking themselves. Howard Dean and the DNC have told Florida state Democrat officials that they will forfeit all of their delegates to the 2008 Democratic Convention unless they change the date of the Florida Presidential primary from January 29 to February 5. The problem is the Florida State Legislature, which is controlled by the Republicans set the January date. And they have no intention of changing it. Of course, the Florida state Democratic party can change the date of the Democrats Presidential primary, but it will cost the state Democratic Party millions of dollars, since they will have to absorb all of the costs themselves. Having lived through the Election of 2000 here in Florida, I can't help but feel a little sympathy for the Florida Democrats. They must think they are snake bitten.
