AMERICAN DECLINISM

There is a very lengthy and very intriguing article in Real Clear Politics entitled "Three Centuries of American Declinism" by Alan Dowd. The article is well worth taking the time to read. Mr. Dowd points out that declinism has a strange way of rearing its head when the United States is at the peak of its power. He takes us through the history of the country and explains why he feels we are no closer today to seeing the decline of America than we were in the 50's or 60's or 70's.
