POLITICS STARTS AT THE WATER'S EDGE
As much as I hate to give the New York Times credit for anything, this op-ed really makes a lot of sense. It was written by Kiron K. Skinner, Serhiy Kudelia, Bruce Bueno de Mesquita and Condoleezza Rice. The point of the op-ed is that rarely are world leaders selected on the basis of their foreign policy knowledge or experience. Instead most of them are elected based on their domestic policies.
