SENATOR DOMENICI'S ILLNESS

I was saddened to hear that Senator Domenici is retiring because of a progressive brain disease. According to the report in the New York Times Senator Domenici suffers from a frontotemporal lobar degeneration disease, sometimes called Pick's disease. Having lost a friend to what was first thought to be Pick's disease, I am somewhat suspicious whether this is what the Senator actually suffers from. In any event, I wish him well. He has always been one of my favorite Senators.
