DO THE SPOUSES MATTER IN POLITICS?

It never fails to amaze me when I see a professional woman treating other women like they don't count. Susan Estrich has an article about the race for first spouse. Her comment that this is the first time that the spouses have played such an important role in the campaigns makes it obvious that her memory isn't very good.
